When Sophie is happy she can dance

...and I will sit and come when I'm supposed to...most of the time.

Well, it seems I'm in luck because of Section 2.2 of the Bylaws of the Condominium Association which states that only the Board of Directors can manage and enforce condo rules. It just so happens, that mom and I live in the largest unit on the top floor with my good friend Jerry, who is a member of the board and happens to be the majority owner in the building. So for now, I am safe—whew! But lately, I have been reprimanded when barking at the mean neighbor. Mom even swatted my behind this morning—OUCH!

When I heard the news, I stood on my hind legs and flapped my front paws up and down. You see, I am part Bichon Frise and we can do that. It works especially well when I do it in a store because they will usually give me a treat.

I'm off to take a nap...

Oh wow!! I love how you drew Sophie's ears.. She does look happy.. Do you scan your pictures or take photographs of them? What are the settings that you use? They look so bright and lovely!!!

I hope the troll who lives across the way doesn't ever meet up with a truly "mean and Vicious" dog. He must not have in the past if he mistakes this adorable little thing for "vicious" Good heavens, some people have nothing better to do than spread misery, eh?

Ear scratches to Sophie from my 3 goldens...

Hi Linisha. I scan most of my work, except for my oils which I photograph. I am not even sure of the settings—I just scan. I love color, so I think my style tends to be to paint with bold bright colors. They must scan well. Hopes this answers your question. Thanks for stopping by—Jennifer

Love from my two Labradors and congrats on Sophie's permanent residence status. Your work is simply spectacular. I have come to the conclusion from having many dogs over the years that there are certain personas which are abusive and when they begin to sense that they have the upper hand, they keep at it and sometimes escalate. I have vowed to myself that I will keep at the ready with the perfect line "Please stop harassing me or I will call the police and lay charges." I do feel this way as most of the time, my dogs have done nothing. The times they do something usually pass by without comment. Like yesterday! My soaking wet exuberant Labrador charged an unsuspecting group of people saying good-bye at the neighbour's front door and made a break for the interior of the house! The dog is young, deleriously happy all the time and always up for new friends. It was pouring rain. Normally I leash her as 70 lbs of happiness attempting to get a hug is usually frightening to most strangers. I have only had her 6 months and training is actually going well. LOL! Anyhow, take care...from one dog owning artist to another....

Cheers,
Sandi

In a very old commercial spot for the sitcom Cheers, Kirsty Allen says, "I am too stupid to live."

It's a line that would look good on your grumpy neighbor. ;-)

Lol! Oh, how I love that drawing of Sophie!

I'm thinking about doing drawings at an adoption event for our shelter animals here. Roz @ RozWoundUp said that you had done this? I'd loooove to here how it went and absorb any tips you have!
